Warning of suspicious SMS messages regarding e-TOLL payments

April 3, 2025

#news

  • SMS messages regarding toll payments are attempts to defraud bank account details.

  • Clicking on the link in the message takes you to a phishing site.

  • The e-TOLL system never sends SMS messages containing payment links

We would like to alert you about suspicious SMS messages regarding e-TOLL toll payments. These are attempts to phish users' bank account details. If you receive an SMS message that contains a link, do not click on it. It could be an attempt to extract your personal and banking details.

Sample message content (original spelling):

“Has a message about an unpaid toll arrived in your e-mail inbox? Be careful! The e-mail may contain a false payment link. Fraudsters attempt to obtain the bank account details of e-TOLL system users in this way. Remember, you can check your payment balance on the official website.”
